WHO WE ARE

Covenant Presbyterian Church of Millburn and Short Hills is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). We are a small congregation comprised of all ages, a variety of occupations, several ethnic backgrounds, and from different towns as well as from Millburn/Short Hills. What unites our membership is our common commitment to the Lordship of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We are here to join together in the worship of our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ and in the strength of the Holy Spirit.

Our common vision is to become better disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ so that we can better love both our God and our neighbor. All aspects of our church life-worship, teaching and preaching, fellowship, service and outreach-have this goal before them. As we grow toward maturity in these objectives, our motto is realized: "That He may show Himself through Us"

WORSHIP

Our worship service is at 10:30 am, with classes for all ages at 9:15 AM. 

Worship, both private and corporate, is at the heart of our church. God seeks worshipers who worship Him in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:24). Our corporate worship service is rooted in the Presbyterian and Reformed tradition, aiming for a blend of reverent and joyful worship.

Our worship includes prayer, singing, reading and preaching God's Word. There are prayers of adoration, of confession of sin, and of intercession. Our music combines traditional hymns and contemporary songs. Because we believe the church reaches through the ages, we regularly incorporate a historic creed or catechism question into our service. Believing in the centrality of the cross of Christ for our Christian identity and motivation, we celebrate the Lord's Supper every Sunday.

A nursery is provided for infants and children, and older children are encouraged to participate in the worship service with their parents.

Our evening service is more casual, with music and a message from Scripture that addresses contemporary questions.
